How do I update my device(s) with my new password?

After resetting your FSUID password, it's possible for your FSU account to be locked due to multiple failed password attempts. Oftentimes, this is caused by your devices trying to access applications using your old password. To avoid any issues, all of your devices will need to be updated with the new password. For instructions on how to update your password, take a look at the various device options below.

Android - Wi-Fi

  1. Open the Settings menu and select Wi-Fi
  2. Select FSUSecure
  3. Tap Forget Network
  4. After the network is forgotten, tap FSUSecure again and enter your FSUID and new password to re-establish a connection

Android - Email

NOTE: Opening the Outlook email app should automatically prompt you for a new password. If it does not, follow these steps to remove your account from the app and re-add it.

  1. Open the Outlook app
  2. Open the Settings by tapping the gear icon in the top-right corner of the app
  3. Tap the email account to open the account settings
  4. Tap Delete Account (This will not delete emails, as these are synced to your FSU email and not stored within the application.)
  5. After the account is removed, it may prompt you to add an account to the application. If it does not, go back to the Settings menu and under Accounts, tap Add Account
  6. Enter your full FSU email address
  7. After being redirected to the FSU sign in page, enter your new password

iOS - Wi-Fi

  1. Open Settings and select Wi-Fi
  2. Select FSUSecure and tap Forget This Network
  3. In the pop-up box, tap Forget
  4. After forgetting the network, return to the Wi-Fi screen and select FSUSecure from the Choose a Network list
  5. Enter your FSUID and new password into the Username and Password fields
  6. Tap Join
  7. When the Wi-Fi certificate screen appears, tap Trust

iOS - Email

If logged into a Windows PC:

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen and select Network settings or View Connection Settings
  2. Select either Manage Known Networks or Manage Wi-Fi Settings
  3. Click FSUSecure and select Forget
  4. Click again on the Wi-Fi symbol in the bottom-right corner of the screen, select FSUSecure and click Connect
  5. A window should prompt you for your username and password
  6. Enter your FSUID and new password and click OK

If logged out of a Windows PC:

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Under the Wi-Fi section, select FSUSecure
  3. FSUSecure will attempt to connect with the previous password entered
  4. After the connection is unsuccessful, you will be prompted to enter your username and password
  5. Enter your FSUID and new password and click OK

Windows PC - Credential Manager

  1. Right click on the start menu and click Control Panel
  2. Select Credential Manager
  3. In both Web Credentials and Windows Credentials you will find a list of saved passwords. Expand each item by clicking the Arrow along the right, then click Remove to remove the item from the saved credentials list.
  4. Remove any items that reference your FSU account or a Microsoft product. Below you will find some examples of items to remove. After the items are removed, launch any application (e.g., Outlook, Skype, OneDrive) and a window should prompt you for the new password.
    Examples:
    • Microsoft xxx
    • xxxxx@fsu.edu
    • SIP: xxx
    • fsu/xxx
    • Exchange xxx
    • Onedrive xxx

Mac PC - Wi-Fi

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select Open Network Preferences...
  2. In the Network window, select Wi-Fi along the left navigation
  3. Use the Network Name dropdown to select FSUSecure
  4. Click the Advanced button at the bottom
  5. In the Preferred Networks field, select FSUSecure
  6. With FSUSecure selected, click the minus sign symbol (-) to remove it as a preferred network
  7. After forgetting the network, return to the Network window and select FSUSecure from the Network Name dropdown
  8. This time a new pop up will appear asking for your username and password
  9. Enter your FSUID and new password

Mac PC - Keychain

  1. In the top left corner of the screen, click Go and select Utilities
  2. In the Utilities menu, double-click Keychain Access
  3. In the top left corner, click Keychain Access and select Preferences...
  4. In the Preferences menu, click Reset My Default Keychain
  5. Enter your new FSU password and click OK
