What does it mean to be locked out?
After a limited number of failed attempts to sign in to FSU services, you will be temporarily locked out from trying to sign in. When your account is locked, you will not be able to sign in - even with the correct password.
Why does FSU lock my account?
FSU limits the number of times someone can try signing in for security reasons.
What other ways might my account get locked?
Did you recently reset your password? If so, you may have a device with your old password saved that is attempting to sign in with the old password on your behalf, resulting in a locked account.
- Disable all devices that may be attempting to sign in automatically. (Only re-enable the applications after you've confirmed you can sign in at https://my.fsu.edu)
- Wait 15-30 minutes for the lock to clear.
- Check to confirm that you can sign in successfully at https://my.fsu.edu.
- Re-enable devices with the same password you used for step #3.
