Why can't I connect to my network shared drive?

All network shared drives (K:) for CTS supported departments will always appear in Windows File Explorer. A red X will appear next to the drive if there is an issue. Follow these steps if you are having difficulties connecting to your shared drive.

  1. Start by making sure that you are connected to the FSU Network. If you cannot connect to the network via ethernet cable, try connecting to FSUSecure.
  2. If a red X appears on your network shared drive (K:), simply clicking on the drive within File Explorer will refresh the connection. The drive should connect automatically and start to display your files.
  3. If you still don’t have a connection, try rebooting your machine.
  4. If the reboot was unsuccessful in establishing a connection to your network shared drive, submit a support request for assistance.
