How do I request a new personal email alias?

Currently, all faculty & staff automatically receive the alias when they activate their employee mailbox. Therefore, new alias requests, even for legal name changes, cannot be similar to an FSUID and must contain a period. Users can request the following alias styles:


Anything at departmental domains (e.g.,, etc.) are at the discretion of the departmental IT staff.

To request an email alias, submit a support request with the following information:

  • Category: Faculty/Staff Services
  • Specialty Type: Faculty/Staff Email (
  • Desired email alias
  • Whether or not you want this to be your primary address for sending/receiving email
