How do I use the Outlook built in help tool?

If you have questions about Microsoft Outlook features or functionality not covered by our frequently asked questions, Outlook has an expansive library of help topics you can access directly from your email.

  1. In the Microsoft Outlook ribbon, you'll see a search box titled Tell me what you want to do... This field allows you to enter words and phrases to quickly get to features you want to use or actions you want to perform. For Android and iOS, look for a similar light bulb icon.
  2. This self-help tool allows you to easily navigate Outlook. For example, if you are having difficulty navigating the options for calendar settings, simply type Calendar into the field and click Calendar Options. This will bring up the Outlook Options window and bring you directly to the calendar section.
  3. It's possible that the search may not find the action or question you are looking for. In this case, click Get Help on... to open a new window with a list of Microsoft FAQs matching some of the keywords you've entered. This may help pinpoint a more specific question.
